About The Client

Evolution Sports Camps are run by parent organization Evolution Swim Academy based in Orange County, CA. The camps run on a weekly basis throughout the summer as a healthy, active alternative to traditional summer camp.

Project Scope

We started working with Felipe Delgado, founder of Evolution Sports Camps, back in early 2008, when he operated under the name AquaTen Swim School (now Evolution Swim Academy). Back in late 2011, Felipe approached us to develop a site for his then-new sports camps arm on a short timeline, to launch in time to market the upcoming summer sessions. We will be redesigning this site sometime in 2013 as part of a new branding initiative, having already redesigned the parent site earlier this year.

The site includes a customized child theme for the Genesis framework for WordPress. The site was developed to be temporary. Initially it contained stock imagery, as it was built before the first camps launched and there were no actual photos to use. The stock images were later replaced with a professionally-produced video highlighting the camps.

In early 2013, we added a complex, multi-page electronic registration form, which has completely replaced the traditional handwritten form. The registration system now captures and stores the registration data, which can be exported to Excel. The form is dynamic and intuitive and handles many advanced functions – including processing Groupon vouchers, promotional codes and credit cards for payment. The electronic registration process has also significantly increased traffic on the site.
